Operations Director Sea

This position is accountable for the safe, efficient and reliable operation and maintenance of all Air Separation Units (ASU) and related facilities in Southeast Asia (SEA). In addition, the position interfaces with the business area to ensure optimum cost and profitable operation for each facility. This position interfaces with Engineering, Procurement, EHS, Operational Excellence team and commercial area to ensure that new assets are designed, built,and started up to ensure long term flawless operation and regulatory compliance. Nature and Scope This is a senior operations management role for Industrial Gases (IG) SEA to setup, improve and sustain world class ASU and related facilities in the region. This position has dual reporting lines to the IG Asia Operations director and IG SEA president. The position has 6 direct reports, consisting of all SEA ASU Operations line management with operate and maintain responsibility as well as Plant Project Engineering. This position directly manages, and coordinates activities associated with IG SEA ASU and related facilities. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a safe and integrity rich work environment in compliance with government requirements and company standards and values, to maintain Operational and Maintenance programs within budget, drive continuous improvement for Operational Excellence on Safety, People, Service, Quality, Reliability and Cost as well as support M&A and business development in the region. This position is responsible for formulation of and adherence to annual operations budgets, and conformance with established goals and objectives. The operations director is directly accountable to lead the organization to a level of performance identifiable with World Class organizations This position will create an operational strategy to align with Business Strategy to achieve profitability targets, support growth in diverse business modes and M&A for IG SEA business. The job holder will support business growth and new business mode which leverage existing operations resources and people development, and setup AP operations management system for new-built plant and M&A production site, regarding to facility and technology, people and work process and systems. **_PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES _** - As key contributor to participate in formulating and administering IG SEA Operations policies and developing long range goals and objectives. This includes the direction, focus, and visualization of activities in responsible departments to further the overall progressive goals and objectives and monitor their progress. - Provide leadership in continuous improvement activities and successfully enable scalability to achieve our goals of meeting quality, cost, and delivery objectives. - Safety leadership to deliver company people safety goal and responsible for Process safety management implementation in production plants for world-class safety performance. - Direct the company's production activities to ensure maximum effectiveness is obtained to produce quality products within budgetary guidelines. - Accountable to ensure products meet or exceed customer quality standards and required delivery schedules are met. Formulate processes to enable management system in place such as ISO9000, ISO14000 certification. - Interface with R&D, Global Engineering & Manufacturing and Business Development/Sales/Marketing to create new offer and solutions. - Directs Plant Project engineering and Maintenance Engineering efforts to ensure production facilities and equipment are adequately designed, built, and maintained. The emphasis will be on high reliable plant operations and create strategies to reduce capital, labor and material cost and pursuit maintenance excellence. - Facilitate team decision on Improving and Simplifying current working process, especially cross-functional working process and create new ones if needed - to have formal management system and clear work process with RACI chart in place, to drive productivity. - Facilitate risk evaluation and decision-making process to take calculated risk to support business decision making. - Manage quality requirement as per Air Products and customer requirements; implement best practice from other countries in Asia to meet and exceed customer requirements. - Assess and improve Conduct of Operation and implement Operation Discipline program across production sites to drive Operational Excellence. - Support M&A activities and set formal production management system at new plants and M&A sites - Develop SEA local talent and organization to support growth in SEA. **_JOB REQUIREMENTS _** - Incumbent is expected to have bachelor’s degree related to Process Industry/ Operation management; advanced degree on engineering and business management will be a plus - Job Incumbent is expected to have minimum 20 years work experience in a similar work environment, with >10 years in people managing positio
