Environmental Sustainability Director

**Why this role?**

The Head of Environmental and Sustainability drives and maintains APM environmental and sustainability strategy that is in line with KONE’s business strategy. The role is responsible for environmental and sustainability activities in compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, licenses, and certifications to ensure that KONE meets or exceeds customer and legal requirements.

**What will you be doing?**

**1. Sustainability and compliance**
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at global level to develop and implement a business development strategy to ensure KONE’s strategic position as a leader in sustainability
- Design, develop and implement policies, guidelines, processes and solutions and ensure all business lines employees are made aware and play their part in our environmental and sustainability commitments. - clear rules and criteria, transparency - ensure we bring the best practice into action/reality.
- Own and champion sustainability campaigns.
- Lead and develop KONE’s low-carbon operations, including environmental compliance, sustainability reporting and communication plans
- Generating concrete sustainability centric business initiatives - creating business out of sustainability
- Govern action planning and execution in functions/units and lead continuous improvement relevant to environmental requirements.

**2. Working with business lines**
- Facilitate business lines to grow sales and business development by translating KONE’s environmental and sustainability achievement to valuable commercial proposition, solutions backed with data to our customers. Facilitate the support of our daily work: we've got solid commercial argumentation/data/solutions to our customers
- Facilitate sustainability training by working with Learn & Development team and countries to start a train the trainer community for sustainability.
- Lead the most important, complex, controversial or difficult meetings and negotiations with potential clients and business partners to pursue business opportunities and protect the organization’s business interests

**3. Stakeholder management**
- Working very closely with BLs, customers (key accounts)
- Establish high-level, significant relationships with potential clients, customers, partners, key decision-makers, and industry leaders (for example in government or industry associations) to promote the organization’s products and services.
- Identify, evaluate, negotiate and manage the most complex or strategically important sustainability business opportunities, for example sales, projects, consulting engagements, partnerships, alliances, mergers, or acquisitions that will contribute to the organization’s short and long-term business goals.

- Passionate about the environmental and sustainability issues
- Experience in driving environmental and sustainability agenda in a commercial / business setting.
- Good presentation and interpersonal skills and have the ability and commercial understanding to support business (internal stakeholders) and customers achieve their sustainability goals.
- Translate the sustainability data/effort into tangible values and benefits that are easy to appreciate for business lines and customers.
