Singapore TOT TOTE Board Full time

[What the role is]

The intern will be attached to Tote Board’s Partnerships & Engagement team to develop a forward-looking blueprint in social compact, augmented by related engagements with key sector leaders and partners in Singapore’s people, public and private ecosystem. The intern should be quick to appreciate Tote Board’s unique and critical role in Singapore’s social compact landscape, in particular for the arts, heritage, sports, community and philanthropic sectors. In addition, the intern is expected to jointly engage potential new partners including in the race, religion and national identity space(s).

Over the period of the internship, he/she intern will research, engage, and conceptualise ideas that would shape Tote Board’s social compact strategy over the next 3 years. Guided by the context of a VUCA/BANI world, he/she will explore the intricacies of ties and networks that constitute Singapore’s social fabric, as well as to navigate the future challenges and opportunities in social compact. He/she will also co-lead engagements with internal and external stakeholders to validate existing hypotheses and ideas, with the aim of making these recommendations actionable. The scope would have particular emphasis in (i) race and religion, (ii) arts and culture and (iii) Singapore’s community and national identity.

**Social Compact Blueprint Development and Engagement**

**Project Description**:
Key project deliverables include, but is not limited to:

- Development of Social Compact Blueprint - strategic narrative for Community Resilience.
- Sharing of Race & Religion Research Piece - international and regional influences, landscape scan, gap analysis, contestation amongst stakeholders, recommendations.
- Engagements with community and social resilience partners such as in the arts and heritage spaces.
- Understand the landscape of key partners, programmes and initiatives shaping Singapore’s social compact.
- A portion of the project will include exposure to grant partnerships and administration work mentored by grant managers.

[What we are looking for]

**Requirements**:

- Ability to research, review, and critically analyse global/local case studies, data and information on specific social compact issues.
- Ability to design and prepare a forward-looking operational approach that would guide Tote Board’s resourcing priorities in the intermediate term (1-3 years)
- Strong communication and engagement skills; able to work independently and effectively.
- Available for a minimum of 10 weeks with a possibility of up to 12 weeks.
- Preferred profile of Interns: Year 3 to 4, Business, Arts, Social Science, Political Science, Integrative studies and other relevant disciplines.

**Learning Outcome**:

- Development of a social compact blueprint to inform Tote Board’s forward-resourcing strategies.
- Experience first-hand engagement and partnerships with stakeholders from the government, arts & heritage, harmony and community sectors.
- Engagement in relevant business functions of grantmaking.
- Be trained in providing sound and feasible concept grant proposals for implementation.
