**What you'll do**:
This job is required for conducting microbiological testing on premixes, raw materials, environmental samples and other related samples to meet both internal and external requirements.

**Your key responsibilities**:
**Key areas of accountability/responsibility**

1. Ensures smooth running of the routine microbiological work in the QC microbiology laboratory in accordance with Safety, GLP, ISO 9001 standards and SOPs.

2. Ensures premixes and raw materials to be analysed timely to meet the agreed datelines.

3. Analyses the premixes, raw materials, environmental samples and any other related samples in accordance with authorized approved procedures.

4. Conduct bacteriological testing which involves: - Media preparation - Sterility test - Identifying specific species or strains of bacteria - Interpret, calculate, record and compile results. This includes keying in results in LIMS system

5. Ensure good quality of analytical results through scheduling calibration and maintenance of instruments, equipment and sample check program.

6. Maintains proper inventory records and initiates purchases. This includes liaising with suppliers.

7. Assists Senior micro lab tech/Microbiologist in monthly environmental & personnel hygiene monitoring program for the premix plant.

8. Helps to identify and solve problems encountered during his/her daily operations. He/She is required to inform any problems and consult Microbiologist or Senior micro lab tech.

9. Provide guidance and train interns if required.

10. Performs any other duties not defined in this job description when called upon to do so by line management.

**SHE Responsibilities**

1. Report near miss/first aid cases and accidents to the Lab Supervisor/Manager as soon as possible.

2. Familiarize with the location and proper use of safety facilities such as emergency shower, oxygen detector, fume hood, etc.

3. Bear full responsibilities of wearing appropriate PPE and always observe.

4. Fully understand and assess important information of Safety Data Sheets before commence work.

5. Always follow the safety procedure outlined in the laboratory SHE programs.

6. Enforce SHE practice and supervise interns under own charge

**You Bring**:

- Basic lab skills is mandatory
- Minimum Nitec/Diploma in Food Science/Microbiology/ Food Technology etc.
- Able to work on Saturday (2 times a month or so) *Applicable for OT payment
