Within SCOR Global P&C, SCOR Specialty Insurance (single risk) is the central unit dedicated to insuring the business risks faced by large corporate companies. It has been serving its customers for 45 years and has maintained a continuous presence in the market by upholding a strong technical culture supported by SCOR’s best-in-class financial strength rating.

Business activity is structured around four regions (LATAM, NA, EMEA, APAC) through seven global lines of business (Property, Construction, Energy, Casualty/Financial Lines & Executive Risks, Marine/Transport, Political/Credit and Political Violence, Space/Aviation). Clients in each region are served by specialized underwriters who rely on SCOR's technical expertise and client knowledge.

Job Summary

Key role is to maintain and develop a profitable portfolio in Australia and The Pacific (focusing mainly on Property, Energy and/or Construction) through his/her relationships with brokers and through new sources, within the guidelines specified at group level that will contribute to the achievement of the underwriting plan
Contribute to the overall results of the Group by sound technical and profitable underwriting
Develop SCOR’s market share and leadership position in Large Corporates, Complex Risks and Mega Projects
Coordinate all marketing activities in APAC, representing overall Specialty Insurance (SI) and SCOR Global P&C’s interest in Australia and The Pacific market
Enhance Group image in the market by efficient and innovative support of client needs
Actively review new submissions and determine risk quality and pricing terms in line with underwriting guidelines, pricing tools and market conditions

Key duties and responsibilities

Generate new offers and promote the Group by pro-active marketing in accordance with the defined strategy and risk appetite.
Receive, select and evaluate offers of Property, Energy and Construction business from various sources by independently analysing all information including risk engineering reports, calculate ratings, negotiate conditions of the contracts.
To provide tailor made solutions and ensure a profitable portfolio.
Contribute to the technical knowledge of sectors in which the jobholder is working.
To cultivate relationships with clients, brokers and cedents for business development purposes and explore new business potential through these sources
Execute growth strategies including Key account management, and Cross Sell Initiatives. Support other SCOR lines by cross selling (Casualty, Alternative Solutions,).
Maintain an accurate database of risks accepted in various IT systems used by SI, e.g. Forewriter, Omega II, UP, SalesForce.
Produce reports of various formats for reporting purposes as required.
Contribute to the claims settlement in conjunction with the claims department.
Positively interact with other departments and colleagues in Specialty Insurance and elsewhere throughout all Underwriting Centres (Singapore, London, Paris,..)

Engage in global underwriting projects and/or transversal initiatives.

Required experience & competencies

**Experience**:
3-5+ years underwriting experience in insurance/reinsurance market in Australia, writing Property, Onshore Energy and/or Construction risks
Working experience in international/multinational insurer/reinsurer
Proven underwriting skills for insurance program of large corporates and/or mega projects (wordings, quotations)
Working experience and/or technical knowledge in heavy industry, onshore energy, or construction projects would be advantages
Risk management knowledge
Reinsurance and insurance knowledge
Knowledge of competitors, cedents and brokers within Australia and international market
