Our client is a renowned and global commodity trading MNC based in town. The MNC is now looking to hire a hands-on accountant to support its commodity trading business.

For this role, you report to the Regional Controller. This is a hands-on role covering financial accounting, accounts payable processing, process improvement and other ad hoc projects.
- Work closely with the accounting team, other departments and overseas colleagues to ensure a smooth closing of accounts of companies managed in Singapore.
- Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing of accounts to ensure accurate and timely reporting of financials to Head Office. This includes preparation of year-end report packages, financial statements and schedules for statutory reporting.
- Work on management reporting and financial analysis.
- Handle accounting related queries and issues on a timely basis.
- Assist in statistics and survey preparation and submission as and when required.
- Work on the AP function and ensure that payments are made through the SWIFT platform. Work on the quick resolution of any payment issues.
- Work closely with other accounting colleagues (e.g. Treasury, Settlements etc.) to check and confirm payment requests.
- Provide coverage for other Accounts Payable team members during their leave.
- Work with auditor to ensure the audit processes are carried out efficiently and effectively.
- Comply with company policies, internal control procedures and accounting standards.
- Work on process improvement projects
- Perform accounting and other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Accounting Degree or equivalent
- **Has the experience in financial reporting and accounting principles with a minimum of 3 years of accounts payable (AP) experience**:

- **Added exposure to the commodity trading industry is preferred**:

- **Familiarity with SAP is required**:

- **Added exposure to system implementation is beneficial (but not a must)**:

- Proactive, flexible and team player
- Rigorous, committed and good organization skills;
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good communications skills and able to interact with other people
