Shan You Counselling Centre provides professional counselling services to youths, adults, seniors, couples, and families in the community. Our clients present with a broad spectrum of mental health, relationship, and other issues. Our community-based counselling services empower persons with mental health and other challenges to recover and live well.
**Responsibilities**
- Provide counselling to youths, adults, couples, and families in a competent, effective, and ethical manner to improve clients’ mental and social well-being and quality of life.
- Work with clients presenting with a wide spectrum of mental health, relationship, and other issues.
- Provide individualised interventions and case management.
- Participate in individual and group clinical supervision, case discussion and other professional development activities.
- Develop and deliver programmes, talks and webinars on mental health issues/conditions.
- Support public education programmes on youth mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
- Adhere to the organisation’s service standards for counselling practice and the professional code of ethics and conduct for counsellors.
- Support other organisational activities, duties and projects as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Master degree in Counselling or Psychology.
- At least 1 year of relevant work experience in providing mental health counselling services.
- Those with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in mental health counselling services and at least 2 years of relevant work experience in a supervisory role may be consider for a Senior Counsellor position.
- Competency in mindfulness-based psychotherapies (e.g., Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) would be an advantage.
- Registration or eligible for registration with a recognized professional body.
- Able to work effectively with clients of diverse demographics and with a wide range of mental health issues/conditions.
- Possess positive intrapersonal traits and attributes.
- Possess effective interpersonal skills.
- Able to work independently as well as contribute as part of a team.
