Singapore NIPSEA TECHNOLOGIES PTE. LTD. Full time

NIPSEA Group is seeking a VP, Core R&D, to join the NIPSEA Group Technology organization to develop and drive execution of Core R&D strategy and initiatives.

**Key Job Responsibilities**
- Develop and execute 5-year technology and product development strategy and roadmaps for core R&D group, and contribute to NIPSEA Group Strategy development & execution.
- Build and manage group core R&D team to color technology, polymer synthesis, process technology, measurement science for paint & coating market
- Monitor and evaluate program progress to determine improvements needed to meet overall objectives and leverage resources to maximize results
- Effectively collaborate with technical, sales and marketing, product group and operations within NIPSEA Group and across Global Nippon Paint partner companies to prioritize work and address future needs
- Direct technical research that leads to the understanding of coatings technology and the relationships for paint formulation components. Drive the development of intellectual property for key innovations
- Provide coaching on technical and managerial issues, nurture strong performers on the technical ladder. Attract, retain, and develop strong technical bench.
- Drive standard lean work flows to meet deadlines and adhere to core operating principles, including safe work practices in compliance with ISO certified Quality Management systems. Responsible for work group safety performance.

**Qualifications**
- MS/PhD degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science with 15 years of experience in chemical industry, Paint and coatings, preferred.
- Minimum 10-year experience in supervision of multi-sites large technical teams
- Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills. Strategic thinking and planning experience required. Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
- Proven strong communication skills with and among corporate leadership and cross-functional senior managements.
- Proven track record in building, developing technical organization, and successful launch and commercialization of new product.
- In depth knowledge and understanding of global and Asia Pacific general industrial coatings technology and markets preferred.
- Knowledge in the areas polymer science, dispersion science, and/or coatings formulation preferred.
