Associate Director

**Summary of position:
You’ll be a senior member of our fast-growing BMS’ Private Equity, M&A and Tax ( **PEMAT **) practice and responsible for delivering M&A insurance solutions, such as Warranty & Indemnity, Tax and Contingent Risk Insurance, to the highest levels of client satisfaction. You will also contribute to achieving sustainable growth by actively seeking opportunities to increase market share and secure business revenue. The role is based in [Singapore/Hong Kong/Seoul with regional exposure], but you will be an integral part of the regional team and working on M&A transactions across Asia-Pacific.

M&A insurance is rapidly gaining momentum as an invaluable risk mitigation tool for dealmakers in Asia-Pacific. Being the first boutique M&A insurance broking firm in Asia-Pacific, we leverage on over 50 years of Legal, M&A, Tax, Insurance and Finance experience in our team to help clients achieve deal certainty through outstanding risk advisory services. Our innovative solutions are tailored to clients’ needs enabling them to manage M&A risks and secure a competitive edge. The PEMAT team closely collaborates with BMS offices globally and with physical presence in Singapore, Hong Kong, Seoul and Australia, we are expanding our network and operations to strengthen our foothold in Asia-Pacific.

**Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities**:

- Develop deep technical knowledge of PEMAT insurance products and the respective underwriting and placement processes, including maintaining and enhancing knowledge of the insurance marketplace, trends and cycles in order to capitalise on market opportunities.
- Review and analyse client needs to determine the appropriate insurance product(s) and desired terms and conditions for insurance/reinsurance coverage and advise clients accordingly.
- Lead and manage the placement process for PEMAT insurance solutions, incl. production of documentation throughout the risk life cycle.
- Ensure that client accounts are serviced efficiently and professionally.
- Support the growth and development of the PEMAT business across Asia-Pacific and globally, by initiating marketing activities, incl. organisation of webinars, events, preparation of RFP/tender proposals and publishing thought leadership articles.
- Maintaining all electronic files and compliance related checks where required to meet clients, markets and third-party expectation.
- Manage claims processes.
- Manage associates to work efficiently and cohesively in achieving team goals and revenue targets.
- Adhere to mandatory training requirements
- Adhere to financial reporting requirements, including monthly phasing of income
- Any other duties that may be reasonable be requested

**Functional & Behavioural Competencies required**:

- Education - University Degree (law, business, finance is preferred)
- A minimum of 7-8 years of progressively more responsible experience in the M&A industry. Prior experience as insurance broker is an advantage but not a prerequisite.
- Client facing and customer focused with excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
- Strong organisational skills characterised by diligence, efficiency, flexibility and reliability
- Ambitious & driven
- Ability to multi-task and independently manage projects and initiatives
- Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a fast-paced team
- Knowledge of M&A and Private Equity funds would be advantageous
- Excellent command of English. Command of a second language would be advantageous
- Competent using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
