Fragrance Development Intern - Your future position?

**Location**: Pioneer, Singapore

**Reporting to**: Head of Applications & Creations Labs

Purpose
This is a unique opportunity for your personal and professional development. You will get to experience up-close how we bridge science and arts to create unique olfactive signa-tures for a most diverse range of products.
Our “Creative Fragrances Managers/Evaluators” are olfactive experts, whose primary goal is to answer customer briefs by guiding perfumers in the development of new fragrances that will answer the needs of our clients and their consumers.
To do so, CFMs/Evaluators need to have a good understanding of the market, prevailing consumer behavior, current olfactive preferences, and future trends.

As an intern in the Givaudan Fragrance Development Team, you will:
Learn the secrets of the fragrance development process by getting hands on experience to compound fra-grance oils and making illustration samples alongside Laboratory experts and learn to smell and evaluate the samples by getting trained with experienced CFMs and with Marketing, Consumer Market Insight team members.
You will also interact with other stake-holders such as Key Account Managers, Perfumers and Industry experts.
You will rotate in Compounding & Applications Lab and Evaluation team with 3-4 months in each area to be able to get hands on knowledge and holistic experience of Fragrance Development process.
You will report to a Creative Fragrance Manager/Lab Manager and in this exciting role you will learn and support the below tasks:
Develop basic fragrance understanding including history, raw materials, fragrance families and perfume archetypes through guided learning and self-study.
Undertake assignments in category teams and develop an understanding of making & evaluation protocols, market and consumer dynamics, best sellers and best smellers with-in the categories.
Understand the brief process and develop ability to support CFM on simple briefs, using Givaudan’s systems.
Get hands on knowledge and understanding of compounding oils and making illustration samples.
Undertake assignments in other departments to gain in-depth understanding of related functions in the organization such as Marketing or Consumer Market Insights.
Support CFM in all aspects of the brief activity by developing and adapting fragrances for the Southeast Asian market.
Under CFM supervision, collaborate with commercial team to identify/ interpret business needs and objectives.
Help analyze and interpret proactive and brief-related consumer market studies.

**The Skills required are**:
Currently pursuing Diploma/Bachelor’s Degree in any of the sciences/technology discipline
Verbal and written command of English
Interest for Fragrance
Creative mindset

**Willingness to acquire competent olfactory skills**: ability to define, recognize and memorize olfactory notes and fragrance language terms and determine olfactory directions (to be assessed by standardized olfactory test).
Willingness to acquire and incorporate basic understanding of consumer olfactory preferences into fragrance evaluation
Excellent presentations skills and able to communicate clearly and concisely
