Position Summary

As the Senior Credit Manager, you will lead and manage the APAC Marine Credit team, ensuring the quality and effectiveness of credit risk assessments. You will engage with senior leaders, commercial teams, and clients to provide credit support and build strong relationships.

Location: Singapore (Hybrid)

Core duties and responsibilities include:

- Leadership: Manage and lead the Singapore-based Marine Credit team, comprising credit analysts.
- Credit Risk Assessment: Oversee the assessment of credit risk in the Marine portfolio for APAC and the Middle East, ensuring high-quality output and identifying potential concerns.
- Credit Management: Handle credit requests and exposures, review credit lines, and assess credit reviews completed by the team.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly engage with the Director of Global Marine Credit, the UK Marine Credit team, and global commercial teams.
- Market Monitoring: Stay updated on market changes and counterparty news, anticipating their impacts on the Marine portfolio.
- Client Interaction: Engage with existing and potential clients through various communication channels, including phone calls, Zoom, face-to-face meetings, office visits, and international travel.
- Issue Resolution: Inform senior management of any material collections issues and liaise with the Legal Department on unresolved collection issues.
- Aviation Credit Support: Assist the Aviation Credit departments with processing credit requests as needed.

Key Requirements:

- University degree in Finance, Shipping, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of marine bunker credit experience or relevant shipping experience (e.g., ship finance, shipping/commodities analyst).
- Proven experience in managing and leading a team.
- Strong knowledge of shipping markets and commodity markets.
- Excellent analytical skills, including financial statement analysis.
- Understanding of derivative tools (swaps, FFPs) and their implementation.
- Flexible approach to work, including international travel and duties outside office hours.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in liaising with senior leaders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to recommend and enact positive changes.
- Confidence to make decisive credit decisions under time constraints.
- Thorough understanding of legal documentation and collateralization (corporate guarantees, Letters of Credit, NDAs).
- Ability to multitask daily, handling credit requests, client interactions, meetings, and credit reviews.
