**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
We are seeking to recruit a proactive and experienced postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the Food Carbohydrate Programme led by Dr Amy Lin to investigate the dynamics of starch digestion and develop innovative techniques to manipulate the digestion of starchy foods and ingredients.

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Conduct research within our research-focused areas, which will be involved but not limited to research activities in carbohydrate structural characterization & functionality, enzyme purification and characterization, and in vitro and in vivo models (e.g., clinical trials, animals).
- Be a coach & a role model for junior staff embarking on studies in the interphase of glycemic carbohydrates and human health
- Be an excellent team member with an open mind to share and collaborate on research and assist with the maintenance of smooth and safe operation in the working environment

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:
**Qualification & Field of Study**:

- PhD in Food Science or related discipline
- Knowledge and research experience in carbohydrate chemistry, food molecular characterization, biochemistry, and animal study
- Additional training in human physiology, molecular biology, food rheology, instrumental analysis, and clinical study is desired
- Years of experience: At least two years of postdoctoral laboratory experience is preferred

accountable for all tasks as assigned and
- Be an excellent team member, prioritize the team’s goal above personal interest, share and discusses research with the team to achieve shared goals, and take the initiative to assist others when their needs are observed
- Ability to adjust focus and behaviours in response to changing priorities, demands, and research directions
- Excellent soft skills, such as interpersonal, stress management, team relationships, writing & verbal communication skills, etc.
- Practice the highest standards of research integrity and ethics
