COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Grocery Logistics Singapore (GLS) a wholly owned subsidiary of FairPrice Group Supply Chain, is a well-established logistics player in the Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) segment, incorporated since January 1993. Other than being the key logistics provider for NTUC FairPrice and its subsidiaries, we had serviced the Dairy Farm Group, Royal Ahold Group (since exited from Singapore Markets) and many small supermarket chains since our establishment.

The FairPrice Group Supply Chain Business Unit (FPG SC BU) or Grocery Logistics of Singapore Pte Ltd (GLS) is a key logistics service provider to NTUC FairPrice Group and external customers. Our services provided include inbound logistics, warehouse and fulfilment and last mile delivery to the stores, customers and B2C home delivery.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Development Lead to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in overseeing the end-to-end development of software solutions tailored to optimise supply chain operations.

DESIGNATION : Software Development Lead

RESPONSIBILITIES

**Strategic Planning**:

- Architect scalable and efficient software systems that meet the evolving needs of our supply chain operations, ensuring reliability, performance, and security
- Drive discussions on technology decisions and propose strategies for system evolution.
- Initiate and consolidate technical ideas, converting them into actionable projects.
- Stay up to date with new technology trends, industry trends and emerging technologies related to supply chain management, logistics, and software development, and leverage this knowledge to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Conduct regular system reviews to identify technical debt and potential issues, proactively addressing them to maintain system stability

**Product Development**:

- Lead a product development team in the design, development, testing and deployment of high-quality software solutions for our supply chain business.
- Participate in discussions with Product Managers to assess business requests' feasibility and provide technical insights.
- Collaborate with product manager, business analysts, third party vendors and other stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scope and prioritise development tasks.
- Ability to plan the development process in iterative manner, with ability to generate quick Minimum Viable Products based on the feature prioritisation and product roadmap
- Delegate tasks, review technical designs, and facilitate development processes to ensure project success.
- Implement modern and best practices for software development, including code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration, and deployment, preferably by leveraging the cloud based DevOps tools.
- Implement compliant and security first software development, by implementing proper data protection, access management and security standards. If needed collaborate with the group security team to perform necessary penetration and cyber security tests.
- Write unit and API tests to identify malfunctions.
- Troubleshoot and debug to optimise performance.

**People Management**:

- Mentor team members and encourage reflection and knowledge sharing to foster continuous improvement.
- Quality management, by having a close understanding of the team members development activities, review technical designs and facilitate the timely and quality technical deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working and leading a team of software engineers, who specialize in ReactJS or Java/Spring Boot.
- Experience with REST and various HTTP Verbs
- Experience in developing or maintain Cloud Application through at least one provider among AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience of end-to-end software design and performant architecture (serverless, containers)
- Automation with CI/CD tools (Github Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines)
- Experience of building scalable and highly available products using microservices
- Experience in agile development methodologies
- Experience leading product strategy
- Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skill
