**Overview**:
A well-established marine company located in **Tuas** is seeking **Legal Counsel **on **permanent** position.
**Benefits**

**Responsibilities**:
- Responsible for reviewing of contracts prior to tender submission, complete the Company risk analysis report and highlight all area of risk.
- In charge and lead the review of contracts prior to contracting for various projects and to manage contractual matters on behalf of the Company at post-contracting.
- Responsible for the control and custody of contracts upon securing of projects and upon vetting through commercial orders (e.g., works orders, purchase orders, service orders, etc.) received from customers for Company’s products and services.
- Proactive in identifying and managing changes and variations in work scope for contract amendment, with prompt capturing and notification of claims against client.
- Support Vice-President Commercial and Chief Marketing Officer in commercial, contractual, and tender clarifications, as well as contractual settlements with clients as required.
- Coordinate with clients for contractual matters, such as overseeing or conducting onsite visits with clients to examine billings, fiscal data, and eligibility determinations for compliance with terms and contract.
- Investigate and resolve contractual discrepancies, complaints, and disputes by negotiating settlement agreements, or where necessary, by recommending the cancelling or terminating of contracts.
- Investigate and review any contractual dispute between company with subcontractors, vendors, and staff, and recommend action to be taken to resolve such matters.
- Review of all internal contractual document before they are being issued to third party.
- Liaise with Assistant General Manager (Estimation & Analysis) on cost implication arising from proposed contract terms and conditions.
**Requirements**:
- Degree in Law / Legal Studies / Quantity Surveying / Construction law
- Minimum 6 - 8 years of experience in handling commercial contracts in Oil & Gas industry
- Able to understand contractual language (including legal jargons), statutory interpretations, etc.
- Good in drafting commercial contracts and handle commercial disputes
- Work independently and good team player
