**About the team**

Our Trust & Safety team's commitment is to keep our online community safe. We have invested heavily in human and machine-based moderation to remove harmful content quickly and often before it reaches our general community.

As a Data Scientist in TikTok's Trust and Safety team, you will drive data driven decisions and forming roadmaps in ensuring that TikTok remains a safe, trustworthy, and risk-free environment. By implementing your domain knowledge, you will help diagnose, triage, and treat large-scale safety issues. You will scope out projects, use ground-truth data to inform strategies and influence product design. You will partner with a variety of stakeholders across the product, operations, policy, and engineering teams - both locally and globally. You will work with the stakeholders to implement strategies and design product to proactively detect and disarm safety incidents, while protecting creator experience.

It is possible that this role will be exposed to harmful content as part of the core role/as part of project/ in response to escalation requests/by chance.

Some content viewed may violate our community guidelines, which include but are not limited to bullying; hate speech; child abuse; sexual assault; torture; bestiality; self-harm; suicide; murder.

**Responsibilities**:
What will I be doing?

1. Drive the strategic planning and execution of short-term and long-term business plans through in-depth business analysis, industry studies and the study of market trends;
2. Refine and upgrade the content safety system for globalised products, incorporating statistical modeling methods to construct an efficient decision-making system that quantifies business tradeoffs; In addition, abstract reusable analytical methodologies and tools;
3. Initiate analysis projects utilising a comprehensive understanding of content safety, and develop scalable solutions through data analysis, empowering various scenarios such as resource planning, automations in experimentation and decision rules, etc.

4. Collaborate closely with the global Trust and Safety team, proactively providing insights and recommendations, driving the implementation of data analysis value, and overseeing the macro direction of the business.

**Qualifications**

What should I bring with me?

1. Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in mathematics or statistics-related majors, with a solid foundation in statistical and data mining theories.

2. Solid experience in quantifying complex problems with many impacting factors, and use statistical methods to seek answers, such as designing experiments, making causal inference. Proficient in data analysis and statistical analysis tools such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, and Tableau.

3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science related industry, with rich experience in designing success metrics and A/B testing, with a deep understanding of risks in globalised products.

4. Experience collaborating with cross-functional and global teams, communicating across effectively and efficiently.

5. Acute ability to grasp company product-related industry technology development trends, and possess strong macro analysis and decision-making capabilities.

6. Experience in coaching team members.
