Mission:
The role will accelerate BV Marine & Offshore ambition to develop digitalization of shipping and to support Classification and Global Services team in the goal. Act as discipline expert providing support to BV M&O Southeast Asia & Pacific (SEAP) Zone and exchanging with the network on their area of competence.
Functional / Technical Competencies:
- Refine BV’s Cyber-Security and Smartship strategies, in coordination with the Head Office (HO) Strategy department, and aligned toSEAP Zone Strategic plan.
- Assist with coordination of digital cybersecurity, autonomous shipping, and data analytics-related actions within the SEAP Zone, HO, and other relevant Zones.
- Promote the Bureau Veritas brand as the industry leader in digital solutions for cybersecurity, autonomous shipping, and data analytics for compliance.
- Represent Bureau Veritas at specialized digital conferences and in media through participation and technical papers on environmental issues and innovative solutions for cybersecurity, autonomous shipping, and data analytics.
- Organize digital customer seminars and deliver internal and/or public presentations on cybersecurity, autonomous shipping, and data analytics as requested.
Support Classification:
- Monitor new building projects in South Asia & Pacific involving digital technologies for cybersecurity, autonomous shipping, and data analytics for innovative solutions.
- Raise and qualify clients’ expectations for Classification Rules and notations.
- Provide expert input to the Marketing & Sales team on digital solutions for projects.
- Support DT and DO in setting up the organization and procedures to deliver Cyber-Security and Smartship Classification services.
- Ensure Bureau Veritas is involved in relevant digital JDPs related to cybersecurity, autonomous shipping, and data analytics, and coordinate our contributions with other members.
Support Global Services:
- Refine with BVS the digital solutions and services offering to support our clients in their own digitalization journey.
- Identify the needs for expertise, assets and partnerships required for our delivery models across Head Office and within the network and support the implementation.
- Interact and support Business Development teams and Technology & Innovation as well as delivery centers across the M&O network.
- Ensure ongoing regulatory and market watch on digital innovations in the field of cybersecurity, autonomous shipping, and data analytics.
- Develop, organize, and participate in relevant digital activities such as workshops, seminars, webinars, events, publications, and social media, as well as frequent client interactions through calls or meetings, focusing on cybersecurity, autonomous shipping, and data analytics.
- Participation in other activities assigned by the supervisor.
**Requirements**:
- Degree qualified in Engineering related to preferably in Marine / Naval Architecture / Electrical / Software].
- Minimum 10 years working experience in maritime and offshore companies.
- Sound knowledge in cyber-security, autonomous systems, and data analytics in the maritime and shipping domains.
- Able to travel at short notice and accept short to mid-term overseas assignments as required.
- Possess up to date regulatory knowledge of the shipping industry
- PC Literate: MS Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project), Microsoft Teams
