**Job Priorities**
- Maintaining the Advancement Office as a vital, respected contributor to the life and well-being of the SAS community
- Forming deep and effective working relationships with the Superintendent, Board, Foundation members, and leadership team members
- Help to sustain and grow engagement and participation levels in the school’s Annual Fund campaign.
- Create a major gift mindset utilizing Board and Foundation members as cultivators/solicitors and predicated on good data, research, and targeting
- Prepare and execute a capital campaign with a likely target of up to $50 million
- Work with Parent organizations (PTA and Boosters) to encourage and support parent engagement and volunteer activities at the school
- Oversee parent engagement to support parent-school partnership and strong two-way communication channels, encourage parent volunteerism and champion parent activities
- Lead the team responsible for the alumni relations program to foster relationships between the school and alumni

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee all development and constituent relations activities at the School
- Hire, train, manage, and evaluate all advancement staff (currently 6.0 FTE)
- Provide strategic direction for all advancement programs; serve as a “thought partner” and sounding board to the Superintendent
- Represent the Advancement Office and SAS both within and outside of the School community
- Lead parent engagement
- Furnish support and direction to the Superintendent, School Board, Foundation Board, and volunteers for all outreach activities
- Personally cultivate and solicit major gifts.
- Enhance efforts in prospect research, major gifts, and stewardship
- Collect, analyze, and manage Advancement data systems
- Meaningfully engage alumni with today’s school; strengthen and renew relationships with past parents.
- Manage capital campaigns.
- Form deep working relationships with the Director of Admissions, the Chief Operating Officer, and the Director of Strategic Communications.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent.

**Terms of Employment**

**Position Qualifications**

Ideally, they will have:

- Five or more years of development experience, including managing the full scope of development functions, including information services, annual giving, major gifts, campaigns, and stewardship
- Demonstrated evidence of an ability to raise six and seven-figure gifts
- Experience at an institution known for annual giving and fundraising and has a track record for attracting voluntary support
- Familiarity and comfort with Asia and the Asian philanthropic community
- Experience and comfort working with governance Boards and standing committees

- Be capable of engaging parents and volunteers in stimulating dialogue about the School
- Fully support the School’s vision and mission, and the notion of “extraordinary care”
- Have an external focus and passion for building and sustaining relationships and contacts
- Have comfort dealing with people from all backgrounds and positions ranging from corporate executives to support staff members
- Have great enthusiasm and highly skilled in advancement and development work, with high energy for an extremely fast paced environment
- Be an effective storyteller who can articulate the case for support of SAS
- Possess excellent analytical skills
- Demonstrated confidence and decisiveness; a strong leader
