Community Engagement Specialist

As part of the marketing and business development team, you will report to the publisher and work closely with senior team members to develop and manage relationships with our stakeholders. You will be responsible for day-to-day communications with our social media and business partners and will manage and execute our book launches and events. You will be part of a small, but dynamic publishing team, and will be an integral part of our work process.
**Main Role & Responsibilities**:
- Manage the day-to-day communication of the brand on social media platforms, including and not limited to generating leads through targeted online interactions, providing necessary support to customers and followers, as well as interacting and keeping up-to-date with major partners and influencers
- Curate and maintain timely, personable, and positive interactions with major partners and followers in line with company’s branding, and help identify and connect with brands that have similar values with the company
- Assist the marketing team with content development & production (including and not limited to pitching content creative briefs, researching on social media trends, and writing social media copies)
- Contribute in ideation and execution of social campaigns to grow social media subscribers and engagement
- Promote engagement and acquisition of followers through social media communication channels
- Collaborate with other members of the marketing and business development team to drive marketing and sales strategy forward, and assist with executing and maintaining the company’s social media and events calendars
- Work closely with the team to conceptualise and manage events using both traditional and new media channels
- Coordinate community events such as book launches and meet-ups, including organising vendors, catering, security, live stream/video, registration and venues
- Research and experiment with new and existing engagement formats across stills, gifs, videos, contests, pools, livestreams, etc.
**What We’re Looking For**:
- Excellent verbal and written communicator, with the ability to talk to a variety of people from different backgrounds; prior customer service experience is a bonus
- Confident, approachable, and professional, with the ability to cultivate strong, long-lasting relationships with followers and influencers
- Positive outlook, with the ability to adapt to dynamic, fast-paced environments and situations, both on and offline
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to multitask
- Fluent in writing and speaking English; proficiency in Mother Tongue and other languages/dialects commonly used in Southeast Asia is a plus
- Proficiency in MS Office, and knowledge of social media marketing tools on major social media platforms
**Bonus Skills**:
- Knowledge of comics, Singapore’s literary scene, has an understanding of how online communities and interactions are created, and keeps up-to-date with social media trends
- Graphic design or illustration background, video editing skills, or knowledge of using the Adobe Creative Suite and basic IT troubleshooting skills
