**Job Purpose**:
In this role, you will be responsible for working closely with the Regional Chief Strategy, Agency and Digital Officer to design agency distribution growth strategies, enhance current business operations to achieve Allianz Asia Pacific (AZAP)’s long-term vision to be a leading insurer in Asia.
In addition, you will shape and drive a forward-looking focus for the agency distribution function in AZAP, by working with the local operating entities to implement initiatives spanning across recruitment, training, agent activation, compensation, segmentation, reporting, controlling, rewards, business development and any other endeavours related to growing the agency distribution channel.
The Regional lead for Agency Growth reports directly to the Regional Chief Strategy, Agency and Digital Officer of Allianz Asia Pacific (AZAP). The role will be responsible for driving the regional strategy of agency distribution to support both immediate and long-term goals in growth and transformation, communicating the plan with all those involved, executing the business initiatives, and sustaining implementation efforts.
The role is a combination of functional and country responsibility to support AZAP’s ambitions to transform and scale up the agency distribution channel in the region. The incumbent will need to demonstrate firm leadership capabilities and ability to influence c-level executives of operating entities through collaboration and influence.
It has been designed to give the right incumbent the opportunity to excel in their area of expertise while guiding operating entities to grow technical skills and upscale performance in agency distribution management. Day-to-day requirements include business planning, sales management, and oversight of all levers of the agency distribution strategy. Key areas of transformation include quality agent recruitment, agent activation, content development, training, R&R and agency professionalization.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Strategy and planning
- Identify, evaluate, and execute on growth opportunities while transforming the quality and performance of the agency force in all operating entities
- Provide oversight and support on annual business planning activities, tracking and monitoring of growth initiatives driven centrally by the regional office
- Articulate and leverage the regional level performance view for operating entities while identifying opportunity areas with recommending pragmatic adaption approach across entities in the Asia region.
- Build solid relationship with both internal stakeholder and be the bridge between operating entities, regional office, global headquarters, and other stakeholders in the Allianz Group.
- Influence distribution leadership team with coaching, guidance, and mentoring to excel in performance management and build excel in achieving goals.
Distribution management
- Develop segmentation-driven growth strategies to support operating entities in growing and improving all aspects across the sales advisory value chain
- Develop and provide regional leadership in advisory distribution strategies - leading and supporting the operating entities to take their Business to the next stage of excellence.
- Support operating entities’ annual business planning by conducting reviews and qualitative assessment in alignment with regional business strategy and long-term goals.
- Support the delivery of key results of the business plan for Agency channel across the region, both top and bottom line, and supporting the entities to meet planned goals and objectives.
- Monitor the region's performance for this channel compared to strategy and plan, conduct periodic business reviews, financial performance reporting, and other financial metrics.
- Responsible for curating best in class practices across various business entities in the region for agency channel development.
Agency Channel Transformation
- Responsible for partnering and guiding agency distribution functions in operating entities to successfully implement initiatives to accelerate growth
- Continuously work with entities to improve and refine sales advisory channel performance metrics to drive overall efficiencies.
- Devise strategies to scale agent manpower growth and recruitment of quality agents across all entities
- Responsible for co-developing detailed business implementation plans with OEs, identifying workstreams required for execution (e.g. integration with marketing, compensation, operations and other functions)
- Develop unique propositions with local teams that support attracting and retaining quality agents while allowing Allianz to differentiate against peers in market
- Identify and analyse market trends to transform distribution in line with key competitors
**Key Requirements**:
- University degree qualified
- 20 years + of working experience in business management, relevant experience in business strategy or consul
