Deputy Director

You will lead a team to push boundaries on WSG’s data strategies, to enable data-driven decision-making and accelerate digital transformation, so as to facilitate the achievement of outcomes set out in the Government Data Strategy. You will also oversee the review and implementation of data policies and guidelines, and manage WSG’s data assets in line with prevailing rules and standards.

**Responsibilities**

You will lead a team to push boundaries on WSG’s data strategies, to enable data-driven decision-making and accelerate digital transformation, so as to facilitate the achievement of outcomes set out in the Government Data Strategy. You will also oversee the review and implementation of data policies and guidelines, and manage WSG’s data assets in line with prevailing rules and standards. The range of responsibilities include:

- Develop, review and implement the WSG Data Strategy to maximise data’s potential to help WSG achieve its business outcomes
- Oversee the review and implementation of data frameworks, policies/guidelines and processes, including ensuring that data classification, management and protection measures are in line with prevailing norms
- Devise and implement strategies to enhance the range and quality of WSG’s data
- Build and drive a data culture, to increase mindshare of data and speed up the adoption of data-driven decision-making within WSG
- Lead capability building strategies which include the development and implementation of competency frameworks to level up WSG’s data capabilities
- Ensure that WSG’s data infrastructure are adequate in supporting business needs
- Perform incident response swiftly and effectively for data related incidents

**Requirements**:

- Relevant experience in conceptualising, strategizing and implementing data-related initiatives and policies, preferably with experience in public policy and governance, and some managerial/ supervisory work
- Have sufficient technical knowledge of data tools and analytics to bridge operations and policy
- Deliver effective written and oral communication that addresses stakeholders’ and WSG’s interests
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Effectively manage self, and collaborate with individuals/ teams internally and externally
