The ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute is a leading research centre dedicated to the study of socio-political, security and economic trends and developments in Southeast Asia and its wider geostrategic and economic environment. Applications are invited for the following position:
Assistant Director / Senior Assistant Director, Development (2-Year Contract)
Reporting to Director & CEO, ISEAS, you will helm the Development Office to drive the strategy for fundraising, donor engagement and management, in order to maximise and sustain financial gift support and sponsorship for ISEAS. This will be achieved by seeking contributions from multiple stakeholders such as foundations, corporations and individuals, which will help to enhance the Institute’s research programmes.
[What you will be working on]
**Responsibilities**:
- Develop and oversee strategic plans for outreach and fundraising activities and programmes
- Identify prospective individual and corporate donors/sponsors and develop strategies that will meet their interests for sustained collaboration with ISEAS
- Contribute to a pipeline of prospective donors that will have interest in ISEAS work
- Identify and cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors, as well as local and international institutions that would complement and support ISEAS work
- Manage the ISEAS Corporate Membership Scheme and the Wang Gungwu Visiting Fellows Programme, including outreach, fundraising and administration functions
- Handle all administrative details associated with fundraising and membership activities including fundraising proposals, donor profiles, membership events, and marketing collateral
- Build and strengthen relationships with corporate sponsors, as well as local and international institutions through strategic communications
[What we are looking for]
- Undergraduate qualifications in Business Administration, Communications or other related discipline
- At least 6-8 years of relevant experience in non-profits, fundraising, grant management or strategic planning
- Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Experience in networking with institutions/organizations at a senior level
- Meticulous and excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload, operate in a collegial work style and collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders
- May be required to travel overseas for outreach and relationship building
