**The Role**:

- To carry out design appraisal of hull structural plans of New builds, Design Appraisal New build Project management, Ships in Service modifications, retrofits, conversions and Marine Equipment & component (MEC) structures in accordance with LR’s Rules and applicable International/National technical standards for Ships in Services and MEC structures.
- Provide technical advice / guidance to LR field surveyors and clients on matters relating to Lloyd’s Register Rules, National or international standards and Flag requirements in areas of technical expertise.
- To build and maintain a good relationship with our clients and internal stakeholders.
- Conduct technical discussion and provide technical advice to internal and external clients.
- To discuss and present the deliverable with the internal / external client and be able to suggest solutions where appropriate.
- Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.

**What you bring**
- Bachelor or master’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ship Design/Shipbuilding or equivalent and/or Chartered/Professional qualification and a member of a relevant professional institution;
- Relevant experience in Ship structures basic design/ plan appraisal together with some practical experience and experience in project management.
- Thorough knowledge on design principles/structural idealization /loadings of ship structures and governing Class rule requirements.
- Experience in structural analysis (FEA) of ship structures and working knowledge on any prominently used FE software.
- Have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team, to prioritise work and meet LR and Clients’ deadlines, and to work effectively under pressure.
- Good skill to conduct technical conversation with clients and maintain good relationships with client with client focus mind-set;.
- Proficiency in the English Language commensurate with the work and to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills.
