As our Graduate Trader, you’ll start the first 4 weeks of your training program, in our global HQ in Amsterdam, where you’ll learn the foundations of everything that you’ll need to know - the theory, the markets, the strategies and the technology. After that, you’ll put your knowledge into practice and start trading in our simulated trading environment, which is a live copy of the financial market

Once complete, you’ll join our team of experienced traders and begin trading in the real market - with the opportunity to either work in one of our global offices or to return to Singapore and join our local team.

**Who we are**

Optiver is global electronic market maker. We use our own capital, at our own risk, to trade on major financial markets around the world, 24 hours a day. We aim to always provide prices for a wide range of products including listed derivatives, equities, ETFs, bonds and foreign exchange. As such, we have no clients but provide liquidity services to the financial markets on which we trade. We do this by developing our own trading strategies and systems, using originally developed code and cutting-edge technology.

Optiver Asia Pacific represents one of three business units of the Optiver group (the others being Europe and the US). The Asia Pacific business unit includes the following locations: Sydney (regional headquarters); Hong Kong; Shanghai; Singapore and Taipei. The business in Singapore is newly created and deemed to be an integral part of the APAC strategy over the coming years with anticipation of significant growth.

**What you'll do**

From your first day on the trading floor, you’ll have autonomy and responsibility to make decisions that create an immediate impact. Every day will present you with new and interesting challenges to solve. And it’s up to you and your team to drive our success through Optiver’s market leading technology-stack. You’ll be:

- Trading, while constantly looking for creative quantitative solutions to real world events ahead of the competition.
- Developing robust pricing models and algorithms to offer the best price on the products you trade.
- Building tools, conducting analysis and leading projects that take your team’s trading strategies to the next level.
- Working collectively with our best-in-class team of traders, technologists and researchers, to help Optiver remain at the forefront of the industry.

**Who you are**

As a Commodities Options Trader, during market hours, you will be constantly making quick, yet sharp, logical trading decisions based on a multitude of factors. You love puzzles, predictions with strong logic and problem-solving abilities. And you’re always hungry to learn. You’re driven to understand the why, but you’re also comfortable making decisions under uncertainty. You have a real passion for quantitative problems and a flair for numbers. Outside of market hours, you will work on projects that will further your team’s trading strategies.
