Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an **Operational and Resilience Risk Senior Manager**.

**Principal Responsibilities**

The role holder will have responsibility to provide Singapore operational and resilience risk oversight:

- Ensure the integrity and timely completeness of risk and control identification, assessment and information within the Group’s Risk and Control system of record (Helios) as well as directing documented remediation plans for residual risks
- Develop and maintain a risk based approach to conduct assurance on select areas across resilience risk taxonomies, which meet policy and regulatory expectations
- Oversee and execute evaluation of portfolio of controls for design and operating effectiveness, raising issues as appropriate
- Ensure that assigned control assessments are accurate, effective and delivered on time, as per plan
- Manage the documentation of assurance review outcomes and ensure it meets the quality requirements, as appropriate
- Maintain oversight on remedial action plans by first line and ensure underlying root causes identified are addressed effectively
- Supporting with thematic reviews across Singapore to ensure that risk and control environment is commensurate with the scale and nature of operations
- Supports embedding the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and provides advice, guidance and challenge in relation to ORR oversight and internal control effectiveness within Singapore
- Provides 2LOD oversight of top and emerging risks, ensuring Singapore can mitigate these timely and cost effectively
- Attends Singapore control meetings and non-financial risk governance forums, providing both Assurance oversight and robust, timely Risk Steward challenge of the First Line of Defence (1LOD) view of the resilience risk profile as required
- Supports developing and promoting an increasingly insightful process based view of ORR risks
- Supports the implementation and embedding of the ORR functional strategy
- Applies risk stewardship review and challenge over Resilience Risk RCAs and control environment
- Effectively manage stakeholder relationships across businesses, functions, internal audit and regulators

- Strong level of business management knowledge
- Strong level of risk management knowledge and relevant experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, geopolitical, competitor etc.)
- A BA or BS University Degree preferable in relevant discipline
- Professional qualifications (e.g. HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework on Cybersecurity, Information Systems Audit and Control Association certification or equivalent qualification from a recognised professional body) may be advantageous
- Experience in reviewing regulatory and policy expectations and leading gap analysis exercises with Businesses and Functions
- Developing and implementing risk based assurance oversight programs
