Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an **Operational and Resilience Risk Senior Steward**.

**Principal Responsibilities**

The role holder is responsible for ensuring that Wealth and Private Banking Segments and Products businesses in Singapore establish and adhere to standards for the management of operational risk as set out in the Group’s framework for Enterprise Risk and Operational Risk Management, and that resilience risks are managed within appetite. The role holder will also have to provide back-up for Insurance and Asset management businesses from time to time.

The role holder will have responsibility to provide operational and resilience risk oversight for Wealth and Private Banking Segments and Products businesses in Singapore:

- Ensure the integrity and timely completeness of risk and control identification, assessment and information within the Group’s Risk and Control system of record (Helios) as well as directing documented remediation plans for residual risks
- Supporting with thematic reviews across Singapore to ensure that risk and control environment is commensurate with the scale and nature of operations
- Supports Singapore their operational and resilience risk management and acts as a key contact and escalation for senior stakeholder engagement
- Supports embedding the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and provides advice, guidance and challenge in relation to ORR oversight and internal control effectiveness within Singapore
- Provides 2LOD oversight of top and emerging risks, ensuring Singapore can mitigate these timely and cost effectively
- Attends Singapore control meetings and non-financial risk governance forums, providing both Operational Risk oversight and robust and timely Risk Steward challenge of the First Line of Defence (1LOD) view of the resilience risk profile as required
- Supports developing and promoting an increasingly insightful process based view of ORR risks
- Supports the implementation and embedding of the ORR functional strategy
- Applies risk stewardship review and challenge over Resilience Risk RCAs and control environment

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications (For the role - not the role holder. Minimum requirements of the role.)
- Strong understanding of processes, risks and controls relating to Retail, Wealth and Insurance Segments and Products
- Strong level of business management knowledge
- Strong level of risk management knowledge and relevant experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, geopolitical, competitor etc.)
- A BA or BS University Degree preferable in relevant discipline
- Professional qualifications (e.g. HKMA Enhanced Competency Framework on Cybersecurity, Information Systems Audit and Control Association certification or equivalent qualification from a recognised professional body) may be advantageous.
- Experience in reviewing regulatory and policy expectations and leading gap analysis exercises with Businesses and Functions
