**Job Purpose Statement**

Responsible for the collection, handling and processing of blood specimens from adult, pediatrics and/ or infant patients as ordered by the Clinicians; assist in projects, operations and client service duties in the operations department.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Responsible for the timely and accurate collection of blood specimens from patients as requested by the clinicians using any of the appropriate techniques listed below:

- Venipuncture
- Capillary collection - fingerstick or heelstick
- Blood culture specimen collection
- Ensure timely and accurate collection of breath sample for the Urea Breath Test.
- Acquire knowledge and skills on Laboratory Information System and required IT systems.
- Manage and ensure consumables (specimen tubes, syringes, labels, etc.) are sufficient and stocked at Par Level.
- Rotate duties between medical centers as determined by supervisor.
- Work with colleagues to achieve accuracy, service quality, quick Turn Around Time and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain tidiness of workplace.
- Assist in projects, operations and client service duties as and when needed.
- Any other duties as assigned from time to time by management.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum GCE “N” Level, State Enrolled Nurse, equivalent or higher nursing qualifications, or Medical Technology degree / diploma with Phlebotomist certificate.
- 3 years' experience in Phlebotomy via vaccutainer or syringe and needle venepuncture.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Patient/customer service orientated.
