Formative Search has partnered with one of Asia’s leading Renewable Energy developers, with a goal to support countries with their energy transition journey towards net zero. Their plan is to develop, finance and operate wind, solar and energy storage projects across the Asia Pacific region. To achieve their goals, they have reached out for us to assist them with the search for a Head of Renewables to be based here in Singapore.

As the Head of Renewables, you will be responsible for managing the development and construction activities of projects across the region while maintaining international safety standards. As this role covers the whole of Asia Pacific, a track record of managing projects in the region is required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leading and managing project development, project management, and construction activities in South East Asia, ensuring time, cost, quality, and compliance with WHSE standards.
- Overseeing Heads of Projects or project development, project management, and construction teams in SEA, while also managing and mitigating risks.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders, project teams, and interfaces, and actively implementing solutions to resolve issues and drive business development.
- Developing project organization and standards, including selecting and managing service providers, suppliers, and contractors.
- Setting priorities based on portfolio management, maintaining project management and construction plans, and identifying areas for improvement or concern.
- Preparing project-specific elements for internal approval and defining key parameters for EPC or construction contracts.
- Ensuring Health, Safety, Environment, and Social compliance on construction sites.
- Controlling and reporting construction budgets, timelines, and quality against baseline programs, while providing input to purchasing.
- Managing personnel needs, recruitment, and selection, as well as identifying training and development needs for yourself and team members.
- Conducting regular reviews, ensuring staff performance and adherence to job descriptions, and managing employee relations in line with company policies.

**Qualifications**:

- Over 16 years in managing complex projects in the renewable energy industry with a successful track record in wind, solar and battery projects.
- Possess a university degree in either engineering, MBA, project management or similar educational qualifications.
- Experience in developing and executing complex infrastructure projects in South East Asia or the Asia Pacific region.
- Strong technical and commercial knowledge with the ability to establish business agreements
- Must be proactive, self-motivated, and ambitious individual with a proven history of successful teamwork.
- Capable of working autonomously to identify new project opportunities and enhance existing ones
- Willingness to travel extensively within South East Asia.
