**The Role
You will be responsible for providing high quality underwriting assessment, supporting all key underwriting related activities within the Underwriting and Claims Team in the Asian Market.

**Job Description
1. Underwriting assessment for mortality, critical illness, disability, income protection and other living benefits (estimated 80% of the time)

2. Participating in client audit, training and visits, including preparation, execution and reporting (estimated 5% of the time)

3. Participating in internal audit and maintenance of governance documentation (estimated 5% of the time)

4. Supporting key underwriting related marketing and pricing activities (estimated 2.5% of the time)

5. Assisting in the development of Pacific Life Re’s profile in the Asian market (estimated 2.5% of the time)

6. Staying abreast of developments in Asian insurance and reinsurance markets including local regulations insofar as they affect underwriting and claims, competitive pressures, and new initiatives (estimated 5% of the time)

**Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

- Familiarity with reinsurances practices
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in a life & disability underwriting department
- Experience handling underwriting for Life, Critical Illness, Disability and other living Benefits.
- Progression towards the FLMI/ALU/ACII Underwriting diploma
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in order to maintain proper workflow and sound risk management standards
- Ability to handle business affairs in multiple countries with different cultures

Desirable:

- Previous exposure to preparing and performing underwriting audits
- Life, Critical illness & disability claims experience
- Prior working experience in reinsurance company
