Are you in search of new underwriting challenges and would like to join one of the world’s leading marine insurers?Gard is currently looking for Underwriters to join our underwriting team in Asia.

In this role, you will have P&I and hull underwriting responsibility for selected clients in Asia. As an Underwriter in Gard, you will take part in marketing and sales of our full product range, risk evaluations of new clients and renewal negotiations for existing clients. Travel in the region and to our head office in Norway is part of the work.

You will join a team of experienced underwriters in either Hong Kong, or Singapore and will be part of a local Gard office offering a full range of underwriting, claims handling, defence and loss prevention services to our Asian clients.

**SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS**:
You have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience from the shipping and/or marine insurance industry, ideally from underwriting and local markets. A good command of written and spoken English is required. Fluency in Cantonese and/or Mandarin will be an advantage. You have a structured and service minded approach to work, IT literacy and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
