The Assistant Lab Analyst is responsible for assisting laboratory analysis of incoming materials (raw materials & packaging materials), in-process and finished product while maintaining satisfactory standards of good laboratory practice (GLP) and housekeeping.

**Key areas of accountability/responsibility**
- Ensures smooth running of the routine analytical work in the QC laboratory in accordance with Safety, GLP, ISO standards and SOPs.
- Assist Lab Analysts or Chemists to ensures samples to be analyzed timely so that they can be released according to the agreed datelines.
- Assist Lab analysts or Chemists to prepare the samples in accordance with authorized approved procedures.
- Updates results into LIMS system and other quality control test data.
- Follows proper documentation and ensures test records are signed and filed in place.
- Carries out goods inspection, issues status labels and other sample documentation or SAP update where assigned.
- Perform good housekeeping and cooperate with co-workers on glassware cleaning and other lab cleaning duties.
- Covers specific task of other Assistant Lab Analysts in their absence.
- Helps to identify and solve problems encountered during his/her daily operations. He/she is required to inform any problems and consult Senior Lab Analyst, Chemist or Lab Supervisor.
- Performs any other duties not defined in this job description when called upon to do so by line management

Requirement
- Should possess at least a Higher Nitec/Diploma in Food Science/Chemical Food Technology or similar.
- Has to be independent and has some basic background in chemical testing also have the concept of food safety in mind.
- Must be conversant with the simple pipetting and weighing skills.
- Must acquire an adequate knowledge of Safety, GMP, Food Safety and ISO standards.
- Must be familiar with important aspects of the Company’s Rules and Regulations
