**About **OceanX**:
**Position Summary**:
OceanX Education is seeking an experienced Director of Educator and Student Programs to lead its efforts in engaging diverse audiences. This member of the leadership team will oversee all aspects of public programming and outreach, including strategic planning, program development, exhibit management, and community engagement. The Director of Public Programming will be responsible for leading our conferences, special events, and global pop-up experiences, ensuring they align with OceanX Education's mission to educate and engage the public in ocean conservation. This role requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and leadership to effectively communicate OceanX's message and expand our impact. This role will work closely with OceanX senior leadership, in collaboration with the Partnerships and Communications team.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Strategic Leadership**: Develop and implement a comprehensive outreach strategy for all public programming and activations, aligned with organizational goals and mission.
- **Program and Event Development**: Work with senior leadership at OceanX Education and OceanX to create and develop programming and events designed to engage, inspire, and educate the public on critical issues related to ocean exploration and conservation, including conferences, seminars, workshops, science exhibits, art installations, partnership events, and other innovative global initiatives and activations.
- **Event Management and Evaluation**: Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of public programming Monitoring and evaluation should include collecting feedback and preparing reports to assess impact and inform future strategies.
- **Community Engagement**: Foster relationships with community stakeholders, educational institutions, conservation organizations, and industry leaders to broaden our reach, including by co-creating programming and events.
- **Public Relations and Communications**: Lead efforts in media relations, press releases, social media, and other communication channels to amplify our message and increase visibility.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with internal teams, including OceanX Education teams focused on on-ship programming, to integrate outreach efforts with and effectively showcase all organizational programs and initiatives.
- **Budget Management**: Develop and manage the public programming budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated wisely and goals are achieved.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in education, communications, marketing, environmental science, marine biology, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Proven experience (8+ years) in public outreach, community engagement, or nonprofit management, ideally in the environmental or educational sector; experience developing educational programming for audiences of all ages highly desirable.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, public speaking, and presentation abilities.
- Creative thinker with a passion for curating engaging conversations, and blending science and art to engage diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders, including donors, partners, volunteers, and the media.
- Proven track record in event planning and execution, from small workshops to large-scale public events.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Commitment to environmental conservation and education
- Ability to work flexibly and travel internationally as required to oversee programs and activations.

**Compensation**:
Compensation for the role includes a competitive salary (inclusive of a merit-based bonus, dependent on years' experience, level of education obtained, as well as applicable skillset). This position will also offer an excellent benefits package, including a comprehensive employer paid medical plan and CPF.
