Based in the north of Singapore, our Client is an industrial powerhouse committed to delivering quality, cutting edge technologies to their customers worldwide.

They are looking for a Head of Legal and Compliance to join them. You will oversee the Company’s business conduct in compliance to local & international law and regulations. Managing a team, you will advise the senior management to promote and defend the legal interests of the company on critical legal and compliance matters.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop systems and procedures to capture and register risk and compliance requirements
- Drafting and negotiating strategic commercial agreements with customers and suppliers
- Lead in conducting audits to identify, analyse and assess gaps on financial and operational risks including business continuity impact
- Develop, implement, review and update framework, policies and guidelines on risk and compliance management
- Develop and implement strategies and actions to minimize non-compliance, mitigate risk and drive improvement
- Advise business units on procedures and practices pertaining to business risk and compliance
- Collaborate with authorities and professionals to analyse, develop compliance standards and address issues pertaining to compliance and legal affairs
- Explain relevant policies and regulations to management to gain understanding and insights
- Manage corporate governance and conduct periodic review of rules, regulations, company policies and procedures are adhered to and meet the company’s Business Conduct
- Provide compliance risk training and communication to internal staff

**Requirements**:

- Qualified lawyer combining solid academic background and practical experience in business law and compliance matters.
- 8 - 10 years of professional experience (acquired in law firms and/or in the industry, preferably in the industrial or manufacturing industry and APAC region)
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a willingness to collaborate, share knowledge, respond quickly to urgent matters and execute proactively.
- Solid understanding of the business environment and the ability to provide high-quality legal advice with a view on finding pragmatic solutions for the business.
- Ability to forecast legal issues and risks.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
