Student Service Coordinator

Worldstrides is currently seeking an on-site Resident Director in Singapore. This is a full-time position. The WORLDSTRIDES Resident Director will be responsible for the management of the WORLDSTRIDES program in Singapore, working under the direction of the WORLDSTRIDES Management Team in the U.S, and in cooperation with other WORLDSTRIDES staff members in Asia region.

**Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following**:

- Academics_
- Represent WORLDSTRIDES in various dealings with host universities with matters related to students’ enrollment, behavioral issues of students, obtaining course descriptions and transcripts for participants;
- Administration_
- Handle necessary financial, accounting and budget matters related to program management;
- Represent WORLDSTRIDES in various dealings with host universities with matters related to tuition payments for participants, housing payments, coordination of future dates, office space rental and university agreements;
- Assisting other WORLDSTRIDES divisions in program development, additional services and new initiatives as required by WORLDSTRIDES management;
- Housing_
- Coordinate student housing, manage host families, and assist students with any issues that may arise related to their housing;
- Student Services_
- Conduct positive weekly meetings with students;
- Monitor well-being of students on a weekly basis;
- Assist students with integration into the local culture and provide students information and advice about opportunities for cultural enrichment;
- Accompany students on WORLDSTRIDES excursions. Significant weekend travel throughout the Dominican Republic is required;
- Assist students in understanding and comprehending learning objectives on excursions and during cultural activities;
- Maintain regular office hours in order to provide consultation for students;
- Remain on-call after regular office hours for students in the event they may need urgent assistance with medical problems, emotional stress, academic issues, housing problems, and/or other issues that may arise;
- Manage various logístical matters such as making hotel reservations, arranging tours and cultural visits, and coordinating group transportation;
- Work to resolve any and all problems students may experience, and follow WORLDSTRIDES’s crisis management guidelines in the event of major or minor crisis;
- Accompany students to the doctor as deemed appropriate by WORLDSTRIDES management;
- Assist students with their return to the United States at the end of the program;
- Welcome students upon arrival at local airport and facilitate transport to residence and academic site;
- Assist students with immigration matters in country;
- Conduct on-site orientation to WORLDSTRIDES students upon arrival to inform them about all aspects of the program including housing, health and safety issues, academic considerations, and local culture.
- Other Divisions_
- _Coordinate and manage the activities of other WORLDSTRIDES divisions and students in Singapore

COVID-19 considerations:
All employees are required to take PCR test every semester
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Business Administration, International Studies, Marketing, Education/Pedagogy, Either Education or Pedagogy, Foreign Language or a related field);
- Willing to work odd hours and weekends and be on call 24 hours a day while program is in session

**Preferred Qualities and Qualifications**
- Master’s degree in a field related to international education;
- In-depth knowledge and experience in U.S. higher education, undergraduate, and international education;
- At least 1 year of experience living, working or studying in the United States;
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, diplomatic, friendly, confident, articulate and able to work effectively with different types of people;
- Able to multi-task effectively and work effectively under stress;
- Teaching experience.
- Must be a positive team player
- Must be mature and able to use discretion when necessary.
- One year of work experience in a similar or related position
- Fluency in English;
