Overview:
The NPI (New Product Introduction) Sourcing Team Lead is responsible for the NPI Team sourcing management throughout all phases of new project product/part development. The Sourcing Manager works with project teams, suppliers, and Engineering to provide sourcing project Procurement support, determine technology design approaches and alignment of supplier capabilities to provide cost and quality advantages. This Sourcing Team Lead serves as a liaison for cross-functional sourcing participation in all development and design changes that require RFQ’s or ECN’s/ECO’s within the NPD process phase gates. Leads the sourcing efforts within a project to meet launch dates, project target costing, supplier/part RFQ’s and selection of buy parts for each project assigned.

This team identifies and maintains current knowledge regarding approved supplier capabilities, technologies, and processes to assist in the matching of appropriate suppliers for new parts originating from new or revised BOM’s. They research new suppliers that can be incorporated in new product development. Serve as an internal resource regarding supplier new products, capabilities, technologies, and sourcing process. Serves as an active team member in all phases of development to launch.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leads NPI Sourcing team locally to support R&D, Marketing and Global Supply Chain sites.
- Manages a team of NPI Sourcing Specialists, supporting both Clinical Diagnostics and Life Science NPD projects.
- Team size will depend on NPI project Funnel (1-5 individuals).
- Will make decisions to spend on materials in support of NPI projects, in collaboration with R&D and Supply Assurance.
- Will represent Bio Rad to new suppliers and to new Suppliers in support of NPI projects.
- Support and completes new product launch documents in support of NPI procurement.
- List current and new critical vendors per NPI, impact of new Inventory and resulting financial impact.
- Collaborates with Project stakeholders, Global Commodity Management and Supplier Quality to qualify and on-board new suppliers.
- Implements and monitors Key Metric Indicators and manages buyer activity that includes, SAP setup, Purchase Orders, FAI (first article inspection), RTV (return to vendor), supplier management for R&D groups in support of New Product Launch.

Qualifications:

- A Bachelor of Science degree in supply chain management, economics, finance, operations, engineering, business, accounting, manufacturing, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience managing supply chain; sourcing technical, electronics and mechanical parts or related components.
- Electronics or technology NPD project support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including presentations to executive level management.
- Excellent knowledge of 21 CFR part 820 and ISO 13485 (experience in auditing suppliers to these standards).
- Significant computer experience using Windows, Word, Excel, Access, and ERP Information Systems, preferably SAP.
