Field Engineer

**Roles And Responsibilities**
- Daily Update of Project / Operation Progress to immediate superior.
- To have and maintain good daily attendance and punctuality.
- To update team member at least 2 working days in advance before going for leave, in order to minimize downtime
- Ensure to know project scope of works and meet the clients needs as per project standard and requirements.
- Supervise and oversee the sequencial activities of Structural, Piping & Mechanical Equipment (SMP) Installation such as Receiving, Locating in the lay down, Preservation,Foundation and Structure, Receiving from Main Contractor/Suppliers/Vendors,Pipe Support Installation, Launching, Fitting and Welding of piping, Flange Alignment, Punch Clearing, Reinstatement,Touch up Painting and Hand Over. 6 Must have working knowledge of all applicable piping and structure standards and recommended practices, e.g. BS, ASME,ASTM,CSA,API etc.
- Managing project scope and change control with commerical or without commercial impact.
- Development of procedures,flowchart or process flow, detailed calculation based on available Engineering information.
- To procure and requisition materials based on interpret construction and technical drawings.
- Communicate with Engineering/technical/quality requirement to team individuals.
- Project Coordinate with Clients, PMD, Procurement, Engineering, Contract & Finance Departments & Subcontractors and interfaces with other REL' s Business Units.
- Working closely with main contractor and client to ensure the project meets the required needs.
- Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties for SMP scope and other problems that may arise at any time
- Oversee the Steel Structural Works, Piping and Mechanical while assist and communicate for any prioritize from Pre-Fabrication required (e.g PTREI and Subcontractors)
- Preparation of method of statement, risk assessments for Piping, Mechanical & Steel Structure Scopes
- Monitoring and installation supervision with Subordinates to deliver the projects in Safety, Quality and Production manners.
- To liaise with clients representative on all project issues and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery of projects to both the company and clients satisfaction.
- Leading the supervisors and foremen in finding and executing solutions to SMP related problems on site
- Communicating with Project Management Team / QAQC Team to validate and document all changes and highlight to PM for changes that shall involve additional works
- Assist with the management of internal and external third party interfaces.
- Monitoring and assist of site construction team for Installation, Testing and Pre-Commissioning works related to SMP Scopes.
- Liaise with respective functions or Bu's to prepare project planning, contracts, procurement, progress reports and claims.
- Timely Setting out the target, plan and accurate achievement including manpower, materials and machineries as per scope and budget
- To outsource the Shop-Prefab for Piping and Steel Structure Scope, Shop and Field Painting, Galvanising, Metal Roofing, Shop drawings (TEKLA), etc.
- Able to have understanding of systems and subsystems of the plant in order to expediously complete and handover to Client
- To take note the Variation order (VO) and to take note of any Notice of Delay (NOD) during execution of the project.
- Nominating and training of supervisors, foremen, fitters, welders and general workers to be capable of doing works well
- To iniatiate and undertake action to prevent the occurrence of non-conformity.
- Promote best practice for Safety, Quality and Productivity.
- Manage and lead the project team.
- Manage co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in the project.
- Manage project deliverables in line with the project plan.
- Manage project scope and changes and escalate the issues where necessary.
- Manage project execution within the defined budget.
- Conduct management and project related training to the team members, whenever is required.
- Identify the team members who needs to be trained and send them for training through out the project.
- Observe and identify those who have potential to take up higher responsibilities and report to senior management.
- Provide regular status reports to the client.
- Monitor project progress and performance.
- Resolve cross-functional issues at project level.
