**What You’ll Do**

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to join our Singapore-based Marketing & Trading (M&T) legal team. Reporting to the Legal Manager M&A & LNG, this role will provide specialist legal support to enable the effective and timely delivery of commercial outcomes across our LNG and liquids marketing and trading activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver proactive, timely, and commercially focused legal advice to support Santos’ marketing and trading initiatives.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts including LNG sale and purchase agreements, confirmation notices, liquids sale contracts, and shipping arrangements.
- Advise on compliance with applicable laws and regulatory regimes including competition law, anti-bribery and corruption, international sanctions, and Singapore-specific regulations.
- Manage legal risks and support the resolution of disputes and claims.
- Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external legal advisers.

**What you’ll Bring**

You are a strategic thinker and a collaborative team player with a strong legal foundation and commercial mindset. You bring:

- 10-15+ years of corporate legal experience, including both private practice and in-house roles.
- Deep expertise in the oil and gas/energy sector, particularly in LNG sales and trading.
- Admission to practice in Singapore.
- Strong leadership capabilities and the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
- A high level of commercial and legal acumen, with a proactive approach to risk management.
- A Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) and a commitment to continuous professional development.
