Senior Executive, Transport

**Job Summary**

The Senior Executive, Transport & Distribution, is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's transportation and distribution operations. This role ensures efficient, safe, and compliant movement of goods while optimizing logistics strategies to enhance service levels, reduce costs, and support the company’s overall objectives. The Senior Executive is also involved in hands-on inventory management, warehouse operations, and distribution activities.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Transportation Management:

- Develop and implement transportation strategies to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee delivery scheduling and routing to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
- Manage relationships with transportation providers, negotiate contracts, and ensure service level agreements are met.
- Distribution Operations:

- Supervise and optimize warehouse operations for efficient utilization of storage space.
- Ensure inventory accuracy through monthly physical counts, variance reconciliation, and record maintenance.
- Coordinate inventory transfers and organize floor space per storage design principles.
- Oversee and participate in loading and unloading activities, ensuring timely and safe handling of goods.
- Ensure timely delivery of supplies and equipment, handling urgent and ad-hoc deliveries when required.
- Compliance and Safety:

- Ensure all activities comply with applicable regulations and company policies.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols to safeguard employees and goods.
- Monitor and report compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE) by enforcing operating procedures, troubleshooting breakdowns, and coordinating preventive maintenance and repairs.
- Budget and Cost Control:

- Develop and manage the transportation and distribution budget.
- Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures without compromising service quality.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and opportunities for operational improvement.
- Team Leadership:

- Lead, mentor, and develop the transportation and distribution team.
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement professional development plans.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and accountability.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:

- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and service levels.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on transportation and distribution performance.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions based on data analysis and feedback.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in transportation, distribution, or logistics management.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale transportation and distribution operations.
- Experience in contract negotiation and vendor relationship management.
- Hands-on experience in inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
- Proficiency in logistics software and related systems.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to handle urgent and ad-hoc deliveries when required.

**Additional Notes**
- Working hours: Mon - Fri (Alternate Saturday)
- Week A: Mon - Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm, Sat 7.30am to 1.30pm
- Week B: Mon - Thu 8.30am to 6pm, Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm
