**Job Description
The Director is responsible for the department’s consistent business performance and long-term partnership with the Company’s customers and stakeholders. He is also to steer the department to further the business profitability and ensure the team is aligned to the Company’s vision, mission and goals.

**Critical Work Functions:
- Developing and executing business strategies to achieve short and long-term goals.
- Reporting to the Managing Director, providing insights to enhance market development.
- Developing and implementing business plans to improve revenue generation.
- Building and enhancing the company's public profile at events, speaking engagements, etc.

**Critical Work Functions (Ship brokering):
He oversees a team of brokers in the execution of the shipbroking business, which includes conducting complex negotiations. Evaluates potential business development opportunities and steer them into actionable propositions. He is a self-motivated individual who works independently to lead a team and support their efforts in accomplishing goals and provides guidance where necessary.

**Manage shipbroking business**:

- Monitor and manage shipbroking business performance to optimise revenue for the business.
- Analyse the freight market to review existing trends and develop new strategies based on supply and demand.
- Set key performance indicators for team and business unit
- Oversee negotiations relating to shipbroking.
- Build and develop new business pipelines to increase the company’s market share.

**Manage business risks**:

- Develop a framework and processes to manage business risks in shipbroking operations.
- Ensure business risk procedures are complied with.

**Lead improvements to enhance efficiency**:

- Drive a culture of innovation and efficiency to ensure processes are productive.
- Monitor the effectiveness of workflow improvements.

**Service client accounts**:

- Develop, maintain and expand the organisation’s portfolio of clients.
- Foster and deepen relationships with clients.

**Manage resource planning**:

- Develop strategies for resource planning and utilisation
- Review the utilisation of resources

**Requirements
- Degree in Maritime related discipline.
- Possess 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in chartering business of tanker - vegetable oil and biofuel shipping.
- In-depth knowledge of shipbroking operations coupled with an established global network of client relationships in vegetable oil and biofuel sectors.
- Proven track record in building relationships with customers to create and sustain customer loyalty.
- Strong experience in managing and leading a shipbroker team.
