**Summary**
This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer of CMA Ships, leading a team of 4 experienced crewing professional, managing the crewing for a fleet of around 70 ships. This is a management role which requires you to provide solutions and/or decision making for the team, for the best outcome for CMA CGM Group.
**Your key Responsibilities include, but not limited to**:
- To strictly follow all company guidelines, procedures, and mandatory regulations and any special requests from the Client.
- To review and validate/ reject Exemption Request Forms, including identifying a root cause and providing recommendation for corrective actions.
- To monitor and manage the team member’s performance on the job including required softwares’ updates and other administrative approvals.
- To manage an assigned Recruitment and Placement Service Provider (RPSP) by being the Point of Contact on critical matters related to the long-term planning and respective pool management.
- To be in charge of the quality of the line-up on the vessels allocated to the assigned team.
- To maintain an understanding of present issues / situation on vessels allocated to the team as well as have an active involvement in the overall planning on board these ships.
- To attend or provide support to solve urgent cases or / and emergency relief on vessels assigned to the team. To review and manage, together with the COO, the top 5 officers planning as proposed by the RPSP of the assigned pool.
- To drive crew changes in the most cost-efficient ports as per the guidelines and/ or the Client’s specific requirements; exemptions to use expensive ports will require approval from COO or MD.
- To validate, prior approval of COO / MD and presenting to the Client, a transfer / exit plan for a vessel changing a nationality allocation or leaving the company; includes preparing a relief plan for any specific projects as requested by Client.
- To monitor the status of outperforming as well as poor performing crew, including feedbacks and status of debriefings, prior their next vessel assignment.
- To prepare weekly / monthly reports and to manage and provide relevant input on the monthly KPIs in conjunction with the COO.
- To insert into Seafarers’ Employment Agreements and POEA contracts a signature on behalf of CSS’ MD.
- To check and verify the non-wage crew costs and mustering expenses prior final approval by COO.
- To check and approve shorthand manning payments to crew when vessel is not fully manned.
To be suitable for this role, you should have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict management. You must be able to multi-task and work well under a fast-paced environment. High aptitude in decision making and problem-solving is also necessary.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business or maritime-related discipline
- At least 5 years of relevant crewing experience with a reputable ship owner / manager, ideally with some experience as a supervisor
- Excellent knowledge of mandatory STCW certifications, Seafarer’s Employment T&C, MLC 2006, CBA, and Flag States’ requirements
- Proper command of English, both written and spoken
- Some experience in seafaring would be an advantage, but not mandatory
