**JOB SUMMARY**
The Staff Nurse assists and supports mothers in breastfeeding. The role includes maintaining breastfeeding standards and ensuring adherence to the hospital's quality systems and procedures.
**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**
- Provides supervision and advice for all breastfeeding mothers, including inpatients and outpatients
- Offers breastfeeding consultation for antenatal mothers
- Teaches parenting skills to parents of newborns
- Conducts postnatal parentcraft education for maternity patients
- Conducts phone or video counseling for those seeking advice on breastfeeding and childcare
- Maintains accurate documentation for all consultation and education programs
- Familiar with alternative feeding methods such as cup feeding, syringe feeding, and Nursing supplemental system during the early stages of infant feeding if milk supply does not meet the baby's needs
- Manages medical emergencies for newborns
- Keeps abreast of current research, trends, and pedagogical practices in Parentcraft education programs.
**Requirements**:
- Registered Nurse with Singapore Nursing Board
- Preferably with Certificate in Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
- At least 2 years of post-graduate experience in a maternity setting and/or 2 years of related lactation experience
- Ability to multitask, adapt and react in a fast-paced working environment5 days work week (rostered to work on weekends & PH)
