**About the job**

Forte Biotech is currently looking for a Research Officer to join our R&D team to work on our various research projects.

Forte Biotech provides solutions to allow prawn farmers to earn more. Disease are a huge challenge for many farmers in our region. Our patented RAPID system, an all-in-one PCR diagnostic kit and device, allows farmers to detect diseases early, enabling them to take mitigative actions.

**What The Role Is**

Research Officer (Molecular Diagnostic)

**What You Will Be Working On**

The key responsibilities of the Research Officer include the following:

- Plan and execute wet lab experiments: DNA/RNA extraction, LAMP isothermal amplification, quantitative PCR, Gel Electrophoresis, etc
- Data analysis and interpretation of the experimental outcomes
- Validation, optimization, and troubleshooting of R&D protocols
- Perform literature review to keep up with technology
- Exercise meticulous record keeping and management for traceability
- Support monthly production and QC for diagnostic kit manufacturing
- Trace inventory and procurement of routine laboratory consumables and reagents.
- Training and supervision of student interns in projects
- Additional duties as assigned

**What We Are Looking For**
- Diploma or Degree qualification in Molecular Biology / Life Sciences or related discipline, preferably with at least 1 years of related work / project experience
- Experience working in a team with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Committed to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Resourceful and able to work independently to execute the tasks and achieve deliverables on time
