Research Officer, RNA Formulation and Delivery

Roles & Responsibilities We are looking for a highly motivated and meticulous Research Officer to join the RNA Formulation and Delivery (RFD) Laboratory at the Bioprocessing Technology Institute (BTI), A*STAR. The successful candidate will contribute to research integrating DNA nanotechnology, RNA delivery technologies, molecular biology, and bioengineering to create next-generation delivery platforms for gene therapy, immunotherapy, and infectious disease vaccines.Job description: Assist in conducting research on DNA nanostructure?based therapeutic delivery systems and DNA/RNA nanostructures. Perform assembly, purification, and characterization (e.g., agarose gel, DLS, AFM, or TEM) of DNA and lipid nanostructures. Conduct cell-based assays such as transfection, RT-qPCR, Western blotting, microscopy and flow cytometry to assess translation and immune activation. Manage laboratory operations, including reagent preparation, procurement, and inventory. Maintain accurate experimental records, perform data analysis, and contribute to reports, presentations and publications. Participate in lab maintenance, equipment calibration, and compliance with BTI safety protocols. Requirements: A Bachelor degree in Biology, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Materials Science, Biological Science or related disciplines. Prior experience in molecular biology, DNA/RNA/lipid handling, cell culture, or nanomaterials characterization is preferred. Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently following initial training. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills. Good written and verbal communication skills.
