DESIGNATION : Ascentis - Database Administrator
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a SQL Server Developer/DBA, you will design, implement and administer highly available systems and be responsible for the health, care and feeding of all our databases. You will work with fast-paced, skilled team of engineers and developers across multiple high-profile projects and products.
Job Scope:
- Strong SQL Server development experience; crafting and optimizing table structures, queries, and views to support data processing and reporting requirements
- Knowledge in creating all SQL server objects such as functions, views, synonyms, etc
- Perform data migration and testing of static data and transaction data from one system to another
- Strong technical understanding of data integration standards, frameworks and best practices; especially as they relate to ETL
- Ability to explore and propose automation scripts; optimize database systems for performance efficiency
- Create, maintain, and administer SQL Server databases
- Ensure the databases are highly secure, available, and recoverable
- Ensure the database are highly secure, including but not limited to DB user account management and database hardening
- Responsible for database health, storage and capacity planning, schedule and manage regular maintenance
- Provide database operation, including proactively monitor, troubleshooting and tune the databases for maximum performance
- Install, configure, and patch database software and complete database migrations and upgrades
- Support products development, with a focus on helping the team interact with the database in the most efficient and productive way possible
- Deploy the database components for new versions of products to test and production environments
- Able to work on non-office hours or standby for maintenance and support when is required
- Communicating the hardware prerequisites and requirements to the systems administrator to ensure efficiency

Experience and Technical Competencies:
- Up to 4 years of experience in SQL Server development and administration
- Knowledge of relational database management concepts and theories
- Expertise with Structured Query Language (SQL) and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
- Microsoft Certification is an added advantage
- Experience in cloud (AWS, Azure) technologies is desirable
- Demonstrated desire and ability to learn technologies quickly
