- Oliver Lim- Recruiter Our Client is a brokerage firm with a footprint spanning across various countries in Asia and they are looking to hire a database administrator within their technology team.

The database administrator will provide daily operational support for databases and manage projects within the database.

Key Responsibilities:

- Install, upgrade, patch, service requests, and resolve incidents and problems related to databases internally
- Provide design consultation and advice on database matters.
- Enhance plans and improve database performance and operational efficiency through tuning and other methods.
- Participate in database-related projects, such as data warehousing or MSSQL 2014 Refresh.
- Manage database backups and disaster recovery.
- Develop and manage the database-related budget and work plan.
- Oversee database-related contracts.
- Explore new database technologies to improve workflow.
- Automate database work processes to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage database-related contracts and vendors.

To be eligible for this role you will require:

- Minimum 5 years’ experience in administration of Microsoft SQL;
- Possession of certification in Microsoft SQL Server.
- Proficient in using Windows PowerShell to automate DBA tasks, including regular maintenance jobs.
- Experience in capacity monitoring and performance analysis.
- Knowledgeable about database replication and database performance optimization.
- Basic understanding of TCP/IP network, DNS, and LB.
- Experience in project management/implementation and vendor management.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and perform under pressure with mínimal supervision.
- Prior experience in providing BAU support for financial institutions would be advantageous.
