Singapore MPA Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Full time

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) is the government agency tasked to develop Singapore as the premier Global Hub Port and leading International Maritime Centre. You will be part of a dynamic team that catalyses the transformation of the maritime industry through the development of a vibrant innovation ecosystem with strong technological capabilities, building new or growing enterprise capabilities that is supported by an agile and competent workforce equipped with a global mind-set.

You will be part of the Maritime Enterprise Development (MED) team that focuses on advancing the holistic growth of maritime enterprises with a focus on the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME), through equipping them with new capabilities, uplifting and driving their transformation through digitalisation, decarbonisation and manpower development levers. MED adopts a joint-agency, multi-channel and hi-touch engagement approach to facilitate and support maritime enterprises in achieving their digital transformation and next bound of growth.

[What you will be working on]

Your role and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Track and analyse sub-sectoral trends in the maritime industry using a data-driven approach
- Translate strategies into implementable solutions of high relevance to the maritime sector.
- Actively engage to cultivate deep and long-term relations with the maritime enterprises through a hi-touch approach
- Work closely with key stakeholders such as government agencies, industry associations, unions and industry players to customise and administer outreach initiatives, programmes and tools to achieve the desired industry outcomes according to KPIs.
- Identify opportunities for transformation with a view to drive awareness, build capabilities and drive adoption of national initiatives through whole-of-government programmes and support.
- Promote and encourage adoption of MPA national initiatives in strategic focus areas such as digitalisation, decarbonisation and manpower development
- Curate and organise engagement platforms and events to promote such MPA national initiatives
- Co-ordinate and manage related steering committee meetings and workstreams to drive transformational efforts.
- Ensure that MPA’s transformation efforts are aligned with national-level efforts to strengthen the economy according to the Sea Transport Industry Transformation Map.

[What we are looking for]
- Training in business administration, marketing, communications or relevant fields with at least 3 years of relevant working experience in the maritime industry.
- Experience in working with the Singapore public sector's client engagement, promotion and sector development or in small and medium size establishment will be an added advantage.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to engage stakeholders across all levels
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to structure issues, ideas and solutions clearly and concisely
- Excellent communication skills, including written and presentation skills
- Proactive, result-oriented and demonstrates problem-solving skills
- Analytical, meticulous and well organised
- Resilient, flexible and adaptable to diverse work tasks
- Able to work independently as well as in a team
- Ability to understand and grasp technology and digital knowledge easily
