**Altara Ventures **is a leading early stage venture capital firm based in Southeast Asia. We are looking for an experienced investor who is dynamic, down-to-earth and passionate with a can-do spirit to join our growing investment team in the mission to back next generation entrepreneurs.

This is a great opportunity to work alongside experienced partners and build a career in venture capital. You will already have your own network within the Southeast Asian founders and venture ecosystems.

**Detailed Job Description**:

- Represent the firm well and be seen as the ‘go-to’ person for opportunities and collaborations
- Be on top of latest key trends and movements across the ecosystem
- Lead and develop sectoral investment theses as well as industry and thematic research, guiding junior members where necessary
- Proactive sourcing and screening of opportunities, ensuring good coverage of focus sectors
- Ability to lead and perform the following activities:

- Deal pipeline generation and management
- Market, competitive and business analyses
- Commercial due diligences including financial modelling and analysis
- Investment memo and presentation preparation
- Deal execution, including managing external professional vendors
- Portfolio management, value add, growth and exit (including Board level support)
- Portfolio reporting
- Support fund raising activities as and when needed

**Requirements**:

- Active market presence, with a strong network within the founders and investors’ community
- Proactive leadership and self-motivated in taking initiatives to drive things forward
- Entrepreneurial mindset, can-do attitude and enthusiasm to be a core member of a highly passionate team building a leading Southeast Asia venture platform for the long term
- Passion for technology and innovation; curious, strong strategic thinker, detail-oriented while being able to see the big picture
- Possess good judgment in evaluating founders and selecting investments that meet return objectives
- Ability to work well and influence founders in business strategic directions and governance matters; particularly if called to serve in a Board Observer role
- Bachelor in Business/Engineering from a reputable undergraduate program; MBA a plus
- 8+ years of combined experience in venture capital, investment banking, management consulting and/or top tier tech companies preferred
- 5+ years of direct investing experience required
- Fluency in other Southeast Asian language a plus
- Excellent analytical, written and oral communication skills
