**PURPOSE OF THE POSITION**:
The incumbent will provide the Asia Pacific leadership team reliable, accurate, timely and well-informed advice on legal issues and the potential legal implications of various business contracts, human resources, business initiatives and projects. The incumbent will be responsible as the compliance advisor for BIOTRONIK Asia Pacific.

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**:

- Reviews company paperwork, particularly contracts, and draft business documents, which may include execution and termination of distribution and supply agreements.
- Researches, write and edit commercial reports, which may entail examining national, international and local laws to identify any rules we must follow or conflicts that might arise.
- Involves in establishing non-compete clauses or changing a business's organizational structure, when necessary.
- Collaborates with other lawyers, clients or government agencies to execute paperwork or complete transactions. He/She may also engage in negotiations on behalf of the company on settlement agreements.
- Handles disputes about commercial transactions, working closely with the relevant departments locally, regionally and globally.
- Assists in representation in litigation proceedings, international arbitration proceedings and enforcement proceedings regarding court orders and arbitration awards.
- Support Human Resources department in advising on legal aspects in labor and employment laws.
- Preparing and delivering training / updates on relevant legal topics.
- Responsible as BIOTRONIK Asia Pacific’s compliance advisor; including drafting, reviewing, and revising local compliance policies and procedures.

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor Degree in Law or equivalent.

**Experience**:

- Minimum total of 5 years’ practice experience at top local or international law firms; and in commercial organization or international multi-national companies.
- Proven record in providing advices to clients or senior management on matters relating to business transactions.
- Experience within the medical device/life sciences industry preferred but not required
- Good knowledge on various commercial contracts matters. Understand and take proactive and commercial savvy approach to all legal matters. Commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news.
- Able to work as an integral part of a regional team, fostering teamwork and cultivating relationships, as well as ability to work independently and take the initiative where necessary Maintains a controlled, objective and flexible approach under pressure.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English. Ability to speak and write in Mandarin Chinese is highly advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills.

- High level of integrity and professionalism
