About the Role

Responsible for IFRS 17 financial reporting of insurance entity and financial reporting of financial adviser subsidiary

Role and Responsibilities:
Monthly/quarterly closing for insurance entity (AIA Brunei) under IFRS17
- 50% and financial adviser subsidiary - 20%

a. Preparation of period-end closing tasks and reporting deliverables
for group reporting
b. Analysis of monthly financials and provide commentary and insights
on key drivers of financial variances
c. Balance sheet reconciliation
d. Liaise with other stakeholders on financial reporting issues

Ensures timely and accurate submission of annual FRS financial statements
and regulatory returns of insurance entity (AIA Brunei) and financial adviser
subsidiary - 30%

a. Preparation and analysis of financial statements and regulatory
returns to BDCB (insurance entity) and MAS (financial adviser)
b. Preparation of board materials relating to financial statements and
regulatory returns
c. Support external audit activities by coordinating with auditors and
audit requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

- Education - Degree in Accountancy / ACCA
- Experience - 4 years
- Certifications/licenses - Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent
- Industrial knowledge - Insurance industry and audit background
- Technical knowledge - IFRS 17 and MAS reporting
- Other skills - Proficient in SAP, Microsoft suite of products
