Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a **Vice President, Credit Risk Management.**

**Principal Responsibilities**
- Support the Bank’s risk management framework across all retail portfolios, strengthening and enabling the business to grow in a profitable and sustainable way
- Work closely with Regional & Global Risk Teams to ensure the local retail risk framework is aligned with the Banks Global Risk strategy
- Update and maintain the Country Retail Credit Risk Appetite and Recession Plan
- Support and maintain the risk control function and testing for Retail Credit Risk where required
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders in providing relevant oversight on Credit Related Operational Risk processes. Also, provide support in relation to Model Risk assessment.
- Manage Country Retail Loss Provisioning process in compliance with IFRS9 guidance. Facilitate and support relevant Impairment meetings
- Manage all deliverables in relation to Stress Testing requirements
- Co-ordinate and manage regulatory and audit requirements, working closely with relevant stakeholders where required.
- Support and coordinate periodic Planning/Forecast
- Manage/prepare all relevant papers for Governance meetings, working closely with other stakeholders for inputs where necessary

Requirements

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Consumer Risk Management - ideally within a major financial institution
- Prior experience in managing the key governance activities of a consumer credit team will be an advantage
- Comprehensive understanding of statistical based decisioning systems
- Understanding or working knowledge in relation to Consumer lending portfolio Stress Tests and IFRS9-related concepts or methodologies will be an advantage
- Meticulous and analytical with strong risk management and evaluation skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently under tight timelines
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) in English
- University degree in Business, Finance or related discipline
