Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO&I) is the team behind the cloud. Within CO&I, the Datacenter Engineering (DCE) team is responsible for delivering core datacenter infrastructure for Microsoft’s cloud business. The MS portfolio consists of complex, multi-disciplinary, large scale, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects. **Responsibilities**:

- Provide data center telecommunications designs (Specifications, Drawings, Schedules and BOMs) within CAD and/or Revit drawings and / or Subject Matter Expert (SME) direction to A/E firms for outside design work.
- Collaboration with internal & external customers, lead project specific network technical delivery & oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent, complete Datacenter design solutions aligned with the scopes, schedules and budgets of the projects with a focus on facility telecommunications.
- Collaboration with Global Technical Governance team, Global Strategy teams and DCE Operations Team to utilize Base of Design documentation to create and/or oversee the creation of the datacenter telecommunication designs from basis of design (BOD) to issue for constructions (IFC) and through the Construction Administration phase of datacenter until handover for new DC project build-outs, leases, special projects and / or network upgrades.
- Partner directly with cross organizational teams such as engineering design teams, delivery teams, operations teams, contractors and suppliers.
- Provide guidance to external staff augmentation A/Es.
- Highly organized and able to oversee multiple concurrent projects and focus under pressure.
- Structured thinking and logic with very strong analytical skills.
- Strong customer service focus, with the ability to communicate with highly technical management teams.
- Creative approach to problem solving and ability to think out of the box.
- Remote site support for construction teams.
- Site visits to review all stages of the construction and ensure quality is being maintained.

**Qualifications**:
**Basic Qualifications**
- 10+ years' experience in telecommunications infrastructure such as, structured cabling system designs, cable pathway designs and spatial planning.
- OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience
- OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience
- OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 4+ years of technical engineering experience.
- 8+ years of large-scale facility networking infrastructure projects within datacenters or other comparable experience (healthcare, enterprise, large retail, critical environments, healthcare, government etc).
- Knowledge of industry standards, building codes and safety standards including BICSI Standards, TDMM, RUS Standards, ANSI/IEEE/TIA/IEC/ISO, and building codes.
- Technical understanding of mission critical environments and the associated telecommunications facility considerations.
- Ability to lead multiple projects of varying timelines while managing project expectations.
- Detailed understanding for structured cabling components.
- Familiarity with high-level construction administration.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as project or discipline team manager.
- Effective written and verbal communications skills.
- Prior experience with Bluebeam
- Experience using MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel including effective reporting/presentations of project information.
- Fluent in English

**Preferred Qualifications**
- 15+ years experience in telecommunications infrastructure such as, copper, cable plants, and fiber optics
- OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years of technical engineering experience
- OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field AND 8+ years of technical engineering experience
- OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
- Professional/Chartered Engineer or equivalent per county of residence
- BICSI RCDD or DCDC certified
- Familiarity with ground-up construction, greenfield and brownfield site development requirements.
